Kolaches - submit three (3) covered with clear plastic wrap. Bread - submit one (1) loaf wrapped in clear plastic wrap. Grape or Fruit Wine - submit one (1) pint. Judging is on the taste, smell, and appearance of food and beverage. Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Best of Show.

Food & Wine Contest

A Food and Drink Contest will be held the morning of the Kolache Festival this Saturday, May 7.

The contest is for homemade kolaches, bread, beer and wine. Everyone is invited to participate.

Prizes are awarded for 1st through 3rd places in each division and a Best of Show from among all entries received.

First place winners receive $50 and Best of Show receives $100. Plaques are also awarded to each winner.

The contest will be held at Park Pavilion #1, located south of the Grandstand on Main Street. Participants should take their entries to Park Pavilion #1 by 9:30 a.m. the day of the festival. There is no pre-registration required.

Entries should be submitted as follows: Kolaches - (3) on a paper plate wrapped in clear plastic; Bread - one loaf; Wine -  one pint in any type of clear container; and Beer- 2 bottles.

There are two categories for wine: grape and other fruit.

Judging of the entries is based on the taste and appearance.

Winners of the contest will be announced at the grandstand following the parade and prizes awarded at that time.
