MAXINE KINGSBURY SPIRIT AWARD

— 2023 Maxine Kingsbury Spirit Award is Miss Madison Swinford.

In 2013, the Prague Kolache Royalty committee wanted to honor Maxine Kingsbury, who had been dedicated to the town of Prague for over 50 years and was an integral part of making sure the Kolache Festival ran smoothly. She was a strong supporter of Prague and the Kolache Festival all her life. Her spirit was one that we should all hope to replicate.

The Maxine Kingsbury Spirit Award is presented to the Queen candidate who is most dedicated to Prague as a town and making it a better place as shown on her application and essay. The judges make their decision prior to meeting the Queen candidates at their personal interview.

A plaque is displayed at the Prague Museum with each winner’s name, and the recipient also receives a plaque as a keepsake.
