Cindy Joy Standlee Memorial Scholarship

— The winner of the 2023 Cindy Joy Standlee Memorial Scholarship is Miss Madison Swinford.

The Kolache Festival Royalty Committee is very honored to announce the addition of an annual scholarship beginning with the 2022 Kolache Queen competition.

The family of Cindy Joy Standlee has committed to an annual donation of $1,500.00, to be presented in the form of a college scholarship to the queen candidate with the highest score in the kroj competition.

Cindy spent countless hours designing and creating kroj’s for her granddaughter, Elle, who served as the 2015 Kolache Princess and 2018 Kolache Jr. Queen. Her beautiful handiwork has left treasured keepsakes for her children and grandchildren.

January 26, 2021, Cindy passed into the arms of her Savior following a long battle with Covid-19. Her family is giving this scholarship in loving memory of her dedication to the artistry of the kroj and Prague’s Czech heritage.This generous gift and the purpose for which it is given is greatly appreciated by the Kolache Festival Association, the Royalty Committee, the Prague Kolache Queen candidates and future royalty.
